王永栋,1967年1月生,理学博士,研究员,博士生导师,德国洪堡奖学金和中国科学院留学基金获得者,美国佛罗里达大学和德国图宾根大学高级访问学者,江苏省333高层次学科带头人重点培养对象,中国科学院科技创新合作团队负责人。任国际地层委员会侏罗系分会选举委员,国际地球科学计划IGCP506 项目共同负责人,国际刊物《Volumina Jurassica》及《古生物学报》、《生物进化》编委,中国古生物学会常务理事、秘书长,中国植物学会古植物学分会理事和中国古生物学会古植物学分会理事。 担任第八届国际侏罗系大会秘书长及第二届国际古生物学大会执委会秘书长。成功组织多次本领域具有重要影响的古生物地层学国际会议和全国专业学术会议。 从事中生代植物学及陆相地层学研究,在中生代植物类群系统解剖、多样性演化、时空分布以及古气候环境背景等研究方面取得了重要进展和科研成果。主持承担国家自然科学基金、科技部973项目一级课题、中科院知识创新重要方向项目、中科院创新合作交叉团队项目以及国际合作项目等10余项。获得江苏省科学技术奖二等奖、国际侏罗系金菊石奖。发表论文100余篇(其中SCI刊物收录论文50篇),合作出版专著6部,主编国际和国内学术论文集和丛书7部,代表性成果被欧美权威教科书和重要专著等引用。

1)第八届国际侏罗系大会(2010年8月,四川射洪):本次会议是首次在亚太地区举办。大会由国际地球科学计划委员会、国际侏罗纪地层分会和国家自然科学基金委员会发起,国土资源部、中国科学院和四川省人民政府共同主办,中科院南京地质古生物研究所、四川省国土资源厅、四川省遂宁市人民政府和射洪县人民政府联合承办。担任大会秘书长和国际学术委员会委员。
