Multispectral Palm Image Acquisition and Recognition, funded by
the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. )
We propose a multispectral imaging method from 400nm to 900nm, to capture different visual features of palm, including palmprint and palm vein for reliable personal identification. We will construct a large database of multispectral palm images to select the optimal wave bands for multi-biometrics information fusion at pixel-level, feature-level, score-level and decision-level respectively, so that the accuracy, robustness and security of palm biometrics will be enhanced.
Unified Platform for Biometric Algorithm Evaluation and Optimization, funded by
National Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China(Grant No. )
Performance measures of a biometric algorithm include accuracy, complexity, robustness and security. We develop large biometrics databases, novel statistical methods and powerful software suites for accurate biometric system evaluation. The core problems include representative biometric data sampling and synthesis, confidence interval of performance index, standard evaluation protocol, online testing platform on Internet, fake biometric data for security evaluation, automatic algorithm optimization suggestions after evaluation, etc.
