I'm still on Temple's waiting list as well as Columbia's. And I know for certain that my late committee letters were a large negative. Several schools flat out sent an email saying they would not review an application until the letters were in along with the main aadsas application.

your opinion is pretty damn spot on. Glad I'm not the only one. It's fiendishly disgusting that people have to go through near financial ruin to pursue an advanced education. O go figure.
Good suggestion. I actually already took a gap year. I was 23 when I applied in 2016. And I'll be 24 next go, if I apply this June. My only worry is that these schools might know that I was already accepted and didn't go to NYU.
Well I figured in interest and for NYU it came to 496k for me (that includes an estimated 5% yearly increase on tuition and the blood-letting 6.8% interest rate from the oh so gracious fed loans). It wouldn't come close to 1 mill, not even remotely based on my strategy for repayment. I would likely live with my parents for 3 or so years and put most of my salary toward the debt if I ended up going to NYU.
Indeed I am. Buffalo put me on their waiting list almost instantly despite my scores. But I'm guessing it's because my undergrad school took their sweet ass time sending their committee letter. And you're 100% right about the salary gap between accounting and dentistry, but there's a point where these schools have to screw off with their ridiculous pricetags. Only in MURICUH.
Good luck to you dude. Honestly, don't stress it (easier said than done) but I only dream of owing 375k in debt. Seems like heaven compared to NYU's debt slave tuition of 500k. And you know we live in a f'ed up world where that's the price of higher education.
I applied early June and my school sent out my committee letter in August even though I had asked them to have it ready since April. Simply put, I was aggravated to no end. Incompet some people just don't care when someone's career prospects are on the line.
I think a lot of people, myself included, prefer to get out of debt quickly while we still have our youth (20s to 30s I guess). Just a different train of thought, but I understand where you're coming from.
I was thinking about applying again this June, so my application looks more or less the same. Is that a bad idea? I don't really have time to enhance my profile and if I try to do so now they would probably look down on it. I have been working consistently as a tutor though. I didn't expect to get shafted by this many schools with my decent scores.
I would, but I'm an absolute coward. Given the nature of North Korea, Syria, and Iraq, definitely wouldn't want to be stationed anywhere near those areas.
I already took a gap year though, I'm 23 right now. If I apply again for next cycle, will I be frowned upon? I'm probably going to apply exclusively to OOS friendly schools because New York is expensive af.

声优的悲哀！无名女声优山口理惠黯然引退引热议
　　为《元素猎人》的汉娜配音、在《这个是僵尸吗?》《天才麻将少女》等动画中都有出演的日本女声优山口理惠近日在其官方博客上发表了引退的公告。
　　山口理惠日出生于奈良县,2009年出道,隶属JTB Entertainmen事务所,2010年12月移籍81 Produce事务所,今年已经是山口理惠出道的第8年。她在引退的公告中写道:“我,山口理惠,于日退出81 Produce事务所,同时我决定不再做这份工作。”山口理惠在随后的长文中对支持自己的粉丝、家人还有之前所属的事务所都表达了感谢。她表示找到了新的目标,今后将向新目标迈进。
　　相信大家对这位女声优都比较陌生,而且她在3月1日发表的引退公告,直到今天(3月7日)才引起注意。对于她的引退,日宅热议道:“看到她引退我根本不知道她是谁,去搜索了一下发现她这几年的工作逐年减少,大概是混不下去所以只好转行了吧。”“现在声优竞争太激烈,混不下去另谋出路其实是正确的。”“虽然现在声优的工作量增加了,但是单价很低,而且大量的工作都被人气声优占据,新人混几年最后只能这样黯然引退。”“她今年都超过30岁了,连一个像样的主角角色都没有就这样黯然引退,声优这份工作真的没有看上去那么风光。”
