“牛仔之都”卡尔加里的城市剪影
　　买行头扮牛仔 融入牛仔生活
　　皮带扣、马靴、皮套裤是流行的“牛仔”装扮。皮套裤除了在牛仔干活时保护他们的双腿外，还可以在马术表演中增添他们的风采。闪亮的皮带扣更是比赛冠军的标志，当然越大越好！
　　这些装饰中最不可或缺的就是马靴了，马靴的后跟可以防止牛仔的脚在马蹬中向前滑脱。来到卡尔加里牛仔节当然也得入乡随俗，如果你没带行头来也没关系，开业已25年的“艾伯塔马靴公司”盛名在外，许多名人、明星以及加拿大骑警都有一双他们家制造的靴子，几年前在艾省拍摄的《上海正午》(Shanghai Moon)电影里，成龙脚上穿的那双长及大腿的靴子，就是在这里订做的，当然李安的得奖名片《断背山》电影中的两位男主角脚上穿的马靴也是。
　　Ranchman’s餐厅是卡尔加里最著名的牛仔酒吧，从1972年开业至今，一直是卡尔加里专业牛仔最喜欢聚集之处，餐厅屋梁上悬挂着历届马术竞技冠军所捐 赠的马鞍，墙壁上贴着的是历届马术竞技男女冠军的照片，连服务生也是女牛仔打扮的辣妹，现场有两座舞池并有乐队轮流演奏乡村音乐，还有撞球台、机械牛等各种设施，游客不但可以在这里遇见许多真正的牛仔和牛仔女郎，体验“成为牛仔”的喝酒仪式，还可在此品尝驰名的艾伯塔牛排，骑骑机器牛，过一过当牛仔的瘾 。
　　傻里傻气的表演小丑
　　要成为牛仔节上的小丑，要求还很严格呢。小丑必须愿意打扮得傻里傻气，而且喜欢说笑话。必须能跳进一个小木桶，呆在里面，让一头一顿重的大公牛顶着你撞向铁栅栏。然后，你要从桶里跳出来，面带微笑，向观众再讲一个笑话。小丑需要经常旅行，有一定的受伤危险。
　　牛马运动员
　　在艾伯塔省中东部的汉纳镇，有一座占地22,000英亩的牛仔节牧场，饲养着400匹马和60头公牛。正是这些牛马运动员，把卡尔加里牛仔节的旗帜举到了牛仔竞技世界。卡尔加里牛仔节的牛马运动员，经常在北美许多最大最好的牛仔竞技盛事上露脸。当这些骏马烈牛的蹄声在卡尔加里牛仔节的竞技场响起时，牛仔节牧场员工们一年到头的所有努力和心血，就一下子凝聚在牧场全年日程中最重要的这场盛事上。牛仔节牧场曾经培育出许多牛仔竞技冠军。名叫“桀骜”(Outlaw)的烈牛相信许多人都有所耳闻，还有那外号“椰蓉”( Grated Coconut)的也久负盛名。

　　Day 3亮点：葛伦堡博物馆(Glenbow Museum)与套小牛比赛。葛伦堡是加拿大西部最大的博物馆，如果想深度了解西部的历史一定不要错过这里(市中心, 130-9 Ave. SE)。套牛比赛妙趣横生。小牛冲出圈后，手持绳套的牛仔紧随其后，说时迟那时快，牛仔将绳套抛将出去，准确无误地将绳套套在牛脖子上。随之翻身下马，全力冲向被套住的小牛，用双手将百来斤重的小牛提起，而后将其按在地上并迅速地把小牛的前后脚用绳子捆牢，动作干净利落。
